About the Event

Pastor,

I would like to invite you to lunch at Yakabod on August 18,  2022.  We are the Rescue Mission, CareNet, Crossroads Freedom Center, Mt. Airy Net, City Youth Matrix, I Believe in Me and Crossed Bridges.

We have noticed that there is a gap between the  transactional  crisis services we as non-profits provide and the transformational discipleship that happens in your church. Roland Warren, National Director of CareNet Pregnancy Centers and member of Grace Community Church in Frederick clarified this for us.

But we have all known and felt this gap.

Those who come through our doors are best served when they go through your doors on the arm of trusted friends.  Gospel transactions at the point of crisis can and should become discipleship transformation that lasts. Transactions  become transformations when Christ’s community coordinates.

Can we do this together?

We would like to invite you to lunch on August 18 as a pastor, teacher who is faithfully equipping saints for ministry (Eph 4). At the lunch we will discuss two things:  1.  How do we put together a process for helping those coming through our doors to walk through yours; for our crisis gospel transactions to turn into your community’s discipleship transformations and 2. How do we roll out that training to release that ministry in all our churches?

All of us have fellow believers, family members, friends and neighbors that are personally impacted by the crises we address: Addiction, crisis pregnancy, homelessness, poverty, at-risk youth, depression, neglect, foster care, dysfunctional homes…these are present in all our ministries. And we all struggle to respond.

Believers can be equipped to build gospel relationships humbly, boldly with those in crisis all around us. They need to know how to biblically set boundaries, how to set expectations, to biblically understand crisis, and how to escalate to bring in leadership when necessary. They don’t need to be experts, just equipped to serve and bring Christ and His word as a friend and fellow believer who is walking the journey of life in Christ.

Together with Christ and His Spirit, we, His body, have the teaching power, wisdom, expertise, and credibility to fully prepare God’s people to respond to these needs boldly and humbly; to respond with both the salvation, Word and Lordship of Christ.

Our mission and your church need to work together as Christ's body.

Will you join us on August 18th @  Yakabod for lunch?

Through The Bridge (previously CarePortal) our churches have met hundreds of  needs for children and families in crisis for over $70k of value in the last 18 months. The Bridge is now working with all the non-profits listed above.
